Strong by Form has closed the first tranche of its Series A funding round, raising US$6.6 million to advance the development of Woodflow-core and install a pilot plant in Spain. The round was led by Boisei Investments, a U.S. family office founded by George Perry of Boisei Labs, and included CMPC, the Chilean forestry group that had participated in a previous round, alongside family offices Teampact, Ternel, Axel Carbon, and VX Ventures. The operation was advised by Yaku Partners.
The capital will primarily go toward establishing a pilot manufacturing facility in Spain, currently being evaluated in the Basque Country or Castilla y León, with a target completion date of late 2027. While not yet at industrial scale, the plant will allow Strong by Form to certify its structural floor panel and execute the first commercial projects with European construction companies, with whom the company already has advanced conversations.
Since its founding in 2018, Strong by Form has raised approximately US$12 million in total. The company currently operates with a team of 25 people and a productive plant in La Reina, Santiago, equipped with four robots and laser cutting machines.
Woodflow-core is a structural wood composite designed to be cost-competitive with concrete, targeting the US$120 billion global concrete slab market. The technology enables CLT manufacturers to multiply their addressable market up to 50 times, by producing a lighter, more material-efficient structural floor that concentrates half the concrete of a conventional slab in a fraction of the weight.
